General Description

'Eva 2', Tofinou 16 built and launched in France by Latitude 46 in 2012. Foam sandwich GRP hull in dark blue, lead bulb keel attached on cast iron support and two GRP reinforced rudders. Foam sandwich GRP deck construction with self draining cockpit. Side decks are 8mm teak laid using vacuum glued system. Teak laid seating and cockpit sole. Coachroof coamings made of 2 pack varnished mahogany. Large storage area on port side of cockpit. Aft storage locker for dinghy/swimming platform with hydraulic/electric lift opening system. Twin carbon wheel steering on pedestals both with electronic panels. Water tank: 400 lt; fuel tank: 200lt; holding tanks.

Accommodation

Interior joinery finished in oiled teak with teak cabin sole. Saloon has U shaped, leather upholstered settee (starboard) and bench settee around fixed teak table. Storage under seating and also under central bench. Navigation area with teak chart table with reading light and 220v outlet, storage below, simulated leather seat, electrical and generator start control panel in locker over chart table. The galley is to port with waste bin (in drawer), two large storage drawers, Eno Force 10 single electric hob, Miele microwave oven, two electric refrigerators in s/s drawers, coffee machine, single sink with hot/cold pressurised water, lockers for glass & crockery and smaller drawers for cutlery and cooking utensils. 220v outlets. Owner's cabin has double berth with side access and storage below, LED reading lights on either side, 220v plug socket, hull (slits) either side, separate shower area aft of cabin to starboard with shower with hot/cold water and sump tank emptied by an electric pump, wash-basin (also drains to sump tank), overhead hatch; separate toilet area (aft of cabin set to port) with electric toilet (connected to black water tank); teak grating floors to shower area. Aft starboard cabin has double berth with storage below, lockers, reading lights and 220v outlet. Aft port heads has electric WC (connected to black water tank located aft), wash basin with drawers/lockers above and below, vanity unit with mirror and lights; shower with hot water (with sump tank and electric pump out), teak floor grating, hinged door/panel gives walk-in access to a storage area aft which also houses the holding tank and valves. Hot water throughout via engine/220v calorifier.

Machinery

Nanni N4-60SP, 60hp (44kw) diesel engine with sail drive, Volvo 3 x blade folding propeller with zf drive, bow and stern thrusters (interlinked with control at starboard helm). Cummings ONAN 4000w, 6kva generator. 12,000btu air conditioning system in main cabin with outlets in each cabin. Isothern refrigeration. 70amp AGM engine battery, 3 x 165amp AGM service batteries (under aft berth), 3 x 100amp AGM batteries for thrusters and windlass (located under forward berth). Mastervolt inverter, Mastervolt 220v charger. 12v/220v electric 2000w inverter. Electro hydraulic anchor arm at bow, recessed in locker; electric windlass.

Rigging

Axxon Carbon, deck-stepped mast with double spreaders and V-shaped carbon boom, rod rigging, electric roller forestay Furlex 300TD, Dyneema halyards, Navtec hydraulic backstay and vang (panel by port helm), carbon mast support for electronic instruments on mast. Winch handles. 6 x Spinlock cleats on each side for all sailing lines. 6 x retractable cleats marked 'Tofinou'. Rail for self-tacking jib set in a recess forward of mast.

Sails: All by X Voiles: fully battened mainsail, Kevlar jib, Code 0 X (with roller furler NEX5).

Winches: Lewmar: 2 x on each side - 2 x 55ST electric, 2 x 50ST manual.

Navigation

Icom ICM505 VHF at port helm B & G 8" screens (GPS/plotter) on deck outboard of helms, B & G 12" screen at starboard helm, B & G H3000 autopilot with control on each helm. Full B & G H3000 instrument system. 3 x B & G MFD at mast.

Equipment

Stainless steel pulpit and pushpit, stanchions and Spectra safety lines. Cockpit folding table, bimini, light carbon folding gangway with support on aft deck, swimming ladder. Covers for wheel, mainsail, jib and steering pedestals. Full winter cover. 8 x person liferaft. Safety equipment. 2.4m dinghy with Suzuki, 5hp, 4xstroke outboard engine (can be stowed in transom with engine attached and inflated). Dinghy garage could accept larger dinghy without engine attached. Simulated leather cockpit cushions on seats, aft deck and seat backs. Deck lockers at each aft corner. 6 x flush deck hatches.

The Tofinou 16 is the flagship of the Tofinou range and EVA 2 is a seriously fast, powerful and sleek cruiser with luxurious accommodation for four people with ample space. She is exciting to sail whether crewed or shorthanded and is a sailor's dream. EVA 2 has a high specification with many extras and is set up primarily for day sailing and family cruisining in the western Mediterranean area.
